With Josip Juranovic grabbing most of the World Cup attention the Daily Record has turned to another Croatian to deliver more good news for their army of readers.

As almost everyone knows clubs get paid money for each day that they have a player at the World Cup Finals. From thin air the Record has worked out that Borna Barisic’s place in the squad of the semi-finals will bring in a whopping £350,000 to Ross Wilson’s transfer war-chest.

Hearts will earn more for having three players in the Australia squad that reached the last 16 of the competition.

Back in the real world Adam Divine is likely to play at left-back against Hibs on Thursday with no sign of Ridvan Yilmaz recovering from injury.

So far, out of five matches Barisic has made one appearance for Croatia, watching in awe at the performances of Juranovic which is likely to see him leave Glasgow next month.

In contrast there isn’t a sniff of interest in the Ibrox left-back even though he was once subject to moonbeam reports of interest from Roma and Napoli. After joining in the summer of 2018 it looks increasingly unlikely that Barisic will be moving on for a bumper fee.

When the action in Qatar is over all that the 30-year-old will have to look forward to is being part of world class training sessions alongside John Lundstram, Ryan Kent and the other stay-at-home Ibrox Galacticos.
