After five long, barren weeks without Celtic all of the old emotions finally returned yesterday with the bhoys back in action- and putting supporters through every emotion.
Fortunately there was the reassuring sight of Callum McGregor back in the Celtic side, giving it 100% for 90 minutes plus.
Ange Postecoglou chopped and changed the side as the game progressed without a goal but despite more than two months since the match in Leipzig there was no thought given to taking McGregor off for a breather.
As the game progressed beyond the 80th minute Celtic held their nerve, kept finding their passes, kept pressing Aberdeen back until two relative veterans combined to devastating effect.
While James Forrest ran one way McGregor headed in the other direction, the back heel was perfect, it wrong footed his opponents, created the smallest of openings with the skipper doing the rest with a low, diagonal 20 yarder into the far corner to restore Celtic’s lead.
It was simple but effective, a priceless goal to take a nine point cushion into two home matches in the lead upto Christmas. Everything that was required.
Again the profile of Eddie Howe
Appears on this blog, I am a very regular reader and occasional contributor. However I’m not sure why this person is on your blog so often as he has no connection connection to our club.?
