It seems that boredom is setting in with Tom English over Celtic’s remarkable winning form.

The hoops have won 29 out of 34 SPFL matches so far in 2022, drawn three and lost once, away to St Mirren in September. It is a praiseworthy record, one that ensured a 10 point swing last season to lift the title and that has created a nine point lead this term.

It is a fantastic effort from Ange Postecoglou and his squad but it seems that English is unable to put the achievements in context, just 18 months ago the Australian inherited the shell of a squad with barely anything functioning in the club infrastructure.

Wednesday’s win over Livingston won’t feature prominently in any Review of the Season but as anyone that understands football appreciates a 38 match programme requires a whole variety of performances to deliver success.

The only point that I was making was ‘how long will this excite him if it is packed defence after packed defence?’ How long will his interest last?

English has managed to sustain an interest in Scottish football for the best part of 20 years, first with The Scotsman and now as chief sports writer at BBC Scotland.

Every manager has a shelf-life, Celtic fans will be delighted and perhaps surprised if Postecoglou remains in Scotland beyond four seasons but speculating about boredom after 18 months, after one Champions League campaign seems to say more about English than the Celtic manager.

His wages and the other hun fanboys alongside him get paid from out of our pockets.

Just stop and think about that!

They use our money and avoid blatant cheating and anti Irish racism.

I say our pockets but I mean your pocket as the EBC don’t get a dink from me.

    Dear Scud,
I hope you’re not advocating constructing a so called humourous
remark about Mr English by conjoining his given name with his ethnicity
and the base of his employment and the Country of his domicile.
In many people’s mind that would be a extremely racist construct to promote.
And they would be BLOODY right.

This isn’t the first time you’ve attempted this scenario as a medium for humour on one of the Celtic blogs.
Throw in your puerile attempts at humour with your ‘Bennie’ remarks about a character from a Tv Soap from the late 60’s and 70’.
A character which relied on belittling a person deemed as ‘slow witted’ easily manipulated or as the obligatory ‘village idiot’.

In the past you have made a few telling contributions on the Celtic story and the Landscape of Scottish Football.
Please stick to that format as this is what this and other Celtic sites are about.
