Interest in Josip Juranovic has switched to Italy with Gianluca Di Marzio claiming that preliminary talks have taken place with a view to joining Torino.

Those talks are unlikely to involve Celtic at this stage but while the player has been in action at the World Cup Finals in Qatar there can be no doubt that Juranovic’s agent will be working round the clock to identify and drum up interest in the defender.

Two years ago Juranovic was settling in at Legia Warsaw after his move from Hadjuk Split. This morning the agent has an in demand 27-year-old who has played 12 Champions League and World Cup matches since the start of September.

With Croatia’s World Cup hopes ending against Argentina last night the serious negotiations can begin with another international right-back already joining Celtic on January 1.

Di Marzio reports:.

Let’s talk about Croatia because one of the suspects who could move as early as next January – and perhaps right towards our Serie A – is a member of the Croatian national team. Specifically, the full-back Josip Juranovic, who many clubs have had the opportunity to appreciate in these World Cups.

Many Italian clubs have already asked for information on the right-back of the national team coached by Zlato Dalic, who is now aiming for bronze at the World Cup in Qatar. Torino has already shown interest and has had contacts with Celtic, For now, only preliminary talks, but the possibility of seeing him leave as early as January is more concrete than what will happen for other players.

Very titular in Dalic’s national team, he actively played Euro 2020 last year and these Qatari World Cups as a protagonist. He took over former Sassuolo Vrsaljko in this role. So far, he has played 15 games for the club this season, including 6 Champions League matches, where he scored1 goal and provided 1 assist.

Di Marzio has 1.7m followers on Twitter.

With clubs from England and Italy already linked with Juranovic it looks like Celtic could have a bidding war on their hands less than 18 months after paying Legia Warsaw £2.5m for the international right-back.
