Josip Juranovic doesn’t feel that he is in the transfer spotlight despite a variety of claims that English and Spanish clubs are considering bids when the transfer window opens in January.

As well as the standard level of speculation Celtic appear to have ventured into succession planning by signing Alistair Johnston as soon as Canada’s World Cup involvement was over.

Juranovic is in the select band of players still involved in Qatar with each succeeding performance making a transfer seem more likely.

In August 2021 Celtic paid Legia Warsaw around £2.5m to sign the defender, it could take 10 times that figure to sign him up next month.

The Sun reports Juranovic saying:

I may not be a player worth 20-30 million euros, as today’s media put all kinds of figures, but you must know one thing.

I never gave up, even when I was in Hajduk and Dubrava, now at Celtic or in Croatia. My parents taught me to look forward and not look at what others write.

There was scepticism in Hajduk, but I always looked forward. Life tells strange stories, I stuck to my point that I needed to prove myself on the field.

Tony Ralston will be at right-back for Celtic at Aberdeen on Saturday and could hold on to that place in the remaining matches of 2022.
