Josip Juranovic has been mentioned as a possible Manchester United transfer target.

The defender is currently in Croatia enjoying some time off following an epic World Cup campaign that put him firmly in the spotlight of major European clubs.

Eighteen months earlier at the European Championships Juranovic was on the edge of the Croatian squad but after joining Celtic from Legia Warsaw his development has accelerated.

Since the start of September he has played in six Champions League ties and six World Cup matches which presents watching clubs with a ready made right-back to slot straight into their side.

Discussing Juranovic The Express reports:

United are also on the hunt for a new right-back to provide Diogo Dalot with competition, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka heading for the exit door. Dalot was one of the top-performing right-backs at the World Cup, and Croatia’s Josip Juranovic was another.

The 27-year-old star is in line for a high-profile transfer as early as January; Celtic have already signed his replacement. And he could head to Old Trafford if United reignite past interest in his signature.

Wan-Bissake was a £45m signing from Crystal Palace in 2019.

The article is fairly speculative with three other possible World Cup targets for Erik ten Hag mentioned without much detail.

With Manchester United and Barcelona being linked since the weekend it looks highly unlikely that Juranovic will be staying on at Celtic with only his destination and price tag to be determined.
