According to one Ibrox fan Ryan Jack is earning £20-22,000 per week on his current salary.
At the weekend the midfielder revealed that there hasn’t been any talks about a new contract with his current deal expiring in May.
Jack moved to Ibrox in the summer of 2017 and has now started 88 SPFL matches, an average of less than 20 per season.
Jack will turn 31 in February, if the figure above is correct he must have an exceptional agent, whether he can improve on those terms is a big ask. He has had two extensions since signing his initial contract.
Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Filip Helander, Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Steve Davis are also out of contract at the end of the season.
That figure may include a signing-on fee paid over the duration of the contract, the signing on fee likely being higher as he was a Bosman signing but even still, a tip of the hat to his agent if he managed to get him that! A guy with less than fifteen caps who is an inferior player to James McCarthy, who can barely get near our subs bench these days.
A nice draw on the Payroll.
I may be wrong here ,but I’m sure I read somewhere that when Scott Arfield joined the Rangers all those years ago ,his wages were £37.500 a week ! If that’s true ,then it’s completely astonishingly high ….If I’m wrong ,I’ll soon get to read about it ….
