Ibrox fans aren’t convinced that the magical coaching talents of Micky Beale can transform Rabbi Matondo.
The winger arrived from Schalke 04 in the summer for £3m with flattering comparisons to the pace of Usain Bolt, unfortunately it seems that Ross Wilson forgot to check out his football ability.
Matondo has made 12 forgettable appearances in the SPFL this season, six from the start with another six off the bench including away to Ross County on Friday night. It is fair to say he delivered another underwhelming, nondescript performance.
Alongside Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz, Matondo represents more than £10m of investment from Ross Wilson’s summer recruitment programme.
With his knowledge of bibs and cones Beale is being billed as a player developer as much as a manager but judging by the feedback on the Welsh Usain Bolt he has his work cut out on the winger that one fan believes is being paid £28,000 per week.
?? Beale on Matondo: “He’s maybe having a crisis of confidence. He’s one of us, I think at this moment in time it is clear to see that he is struggling for confidence and rhythm…
Having struggled since arriving, can Matondo make it work under Beale?https://t.co/kUcvyXvOej

Hes utter shite. Not a bit of composure in his body. No final product. Not a decent first touch. A pace merchant

It would help if he was actually a good footballer, seen this coming before he signed he has had 0 end product his entire career

If Beale can get a player out him, he’s up there with Guardiola

That miss yesterday will forever be his Van Vossen moment

The issue is hes just not very good. Shalke couldn’t get him off the books quickly enough. Secondly, if he’s having a crisis of confidence, bring him on when 2 or 3 up, not when you have a 1 goal lead

Mad thing is he looked like a world beater in pre season

All their signings pre-season are world beaters until they get on that park.
