Tony Ralston remains a doubt for Wednesday’s match away to Hibs.

The defender suffered a few knocks during the 2-1 win over Livingston that saw him replaced by Alexandro Bernabei with Greg Taylor switching to right-back.

Reo Hatate turned in a very acceptable performance at right-back in the win over St Johnstone but with two away games coming up the return of Ralston gives the side a more balanced look.

When Celtic take on Kilmarnock on January 7 Ange Postecoglou could have Alistair Johnston and Josip Juranovic causing a headache but the immediate priority is Wednesday night away to Hibs.

The Sun reports Postecoglou saying:

We’ll see with Ralston. He improved on Friday and reports are he improved on Saturday. There’s two days before the Hibs game, so we’ll give him every chance. We know what Tony’s like, he’ll give himself every chance.

Juranovic is due back at Lennoxtown tomorrow after more than a month away with the Croatian squad at the World Cup Finals.

Injury ruled him out of the Third Place Play-Off tie against Morocco but it would be risky to put him in away to Hibs after little more than one day of training.
