With virtually no mainstream coverage given to James Tavernier’s handball at Aberdeen that saw the ball knocked onto the post one incident at Dingwall last night will be buried before the Christmas wrappings.

Leading by 1-0 is always a delicate scoreline, four minutes into the second half a dangerous high ball was launched across the visitors six yard line, similar to Tavernier at Aberdeen and James Sands at home to Hibs.

Connor Goldson recognised the danger, he had his arm around his opponent as the ball passed, fearing a quick turn the former Brighton defender made certain by pushing the Ross County player to the ground.

Referee Don Robertson decided not to view it and was backed up by VAR David Munro.

Last month Munro couldn’t point to the penalty spot quickly enough when a Ross County player kicked the ball against Matt O’Riley with the ball bouncing from his thigh to arm.

If we end-up losing points because of the contrived decisions by corrupt officials, Big Ange will go. The man is a professional and he literally isn’t getting a level playing field.

If Celtic do nothing, he’ll be gone. He is not from this backwater. Ange won’t just accept that “it’s the way it is here”. And why should he. We often talk about Scotland’s Shame. But for me a bigger shame is Celtic’s silence.

Whether Celtic board likes it or not, what happens on the field is a reflection of how those of an Irish background are routinely treated in Scotland. By making a stand and challenging the pathetic behaviour of these arrogant untouchables and those who pay their wages, is actually taking a step for all of us who have been discriminated against. I’m sure we all have stories.

2023 beckons and we’re still being discriminated against in Bonnie Scotland. Celtic could do something about that. But for whatever reasons, which I’ll never fully workout, it’s better to do nothing and leave things as they are.

    Absolutely top comment, Jae (Joe?).
I’ve witnessed it for a lifetime but think VAR will ultimately sort this perennial mess out.
Oh, how we would celebrate the PLC Board coming out and doing something; the evidence is there on tape FFS, what more do they need?

Since it’s Xmas but religion’s not my thing, if the Board make some real noise about this I’ll most certainly join in with any other supporters in singing “Oh come let us adore them….”

Adore and PLC Board do not come easily together for me!!

Editor: When social media reaction reaches a certain level the club bring out their ‘surprised and disappointed’ statement template or get one of their media messengers to reveal that they have expressed their concern to the SFA. To quote a popular manager- Zero, nada, zilch.

I am sick to death with the various situations I Scottish football
The cheating referees are trying there damnestto help Rangers to cheat their way to a league win.If that’s the only way to win the should chuck it altogether and if the the cheating SFA don’t pull these refs then Celtic should withdraw their players from playing international games with Scotland. As far as I’m concerned they are allowing these referees to cheat and its about time they dumped refs like these out of Scotland. These refs know what they are doing so it’s nit a mistake they are an evil bunch who are making a joke of Scottish football. Also while I’m talking about Rangerswhy have the SFA not pulled up Rangers fans all be it I hope a minority allowed to mention a gent like Tommy Burns in a derogatory way.T he guy was nothing like the trash that’s associated with Scottish football at the moment (ie the cheating refs)so why are this section of Rangers fans allowed to demean the name of this Scottish great

  • Eric Dillon says:

I may have said before about Var but the SFA are turning a blind eye to it hence its being repeated. About Tommy Burns I have never brought that up .So the SFA are backing these thugs who are mentioning This gents name.if they don’t stick up for this gent the lot of this board should resign
