Moritz Jenz, and Celtic will wait to see how the second half of the season goes before making any decisions for the future.

The arrival of the German defender on loan from Lorient seemed to be perfectly times as Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh spent time on the sidelines through injury.

Jenz started in six Champions League matches which certainly was on the agenda had he stayed on at the French side.

Starfelt’s return has allowed Ange Postecoglou to reunite the Swede with Cameron Carter-Vickers, the partnership that played every minute of the last 18 SPFL matches last season.

Jenz may have to be patient to get another first team chance but seems pleased with how his loan transfer has worked out so far.

During an interview with Berlin based RBB24 he discussed a range of issues including what is in store beyond the end of his loan spell.

RBB24: They are on loan to Celtic until the end of the season. Are there any plans for the time after that?

MJ: Difficult to say because it’s still relatively early. My agent and the club representatives will discuss this. I’m relatively happy at Celtic and it’s really fun here. Every day is a dream. I hope it can continue like this in the long term. Lets see what happens. I just keep going full throttle for Celtic.

All options remain open but with Yuki Kobayashi signing a five year contract it looks like Postecoglou has plans in place that may not include Jenz.
