Celtic are reported to be close to a deal with Atalanta United over the sale of Giorgos Giakoumakis.
The transfer of the striker has seemed inevitable over the last fortnight with the arrival today of Oh Hyeon-gyu increasing the likelihood of a deal.
Urawa Red Diamonds were reported to have agreed terms with Celtic but the delay in penning a deal seems to have encouraged Atalanta United into talks.

Giakoumakis is under contract with Celtic until May 2026 but like Josip Juranovic the length of contract hasn’t been a deterrent to interest from elsewhere.
Celtic paid VVV Venlo £2.5m for the Greek striker on the final day of the summer 2021 transfer window as Ange Postecoglou also pushed through loan deals for Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota.
Giakoumakis was a slow burner but with Kyogo Furuhashi suffering a serious hamstring injury in December of last year the Greek internationalist grabbed his chance with both hands, delivering the goals that went a long way towards delivering the SPFL title.
