Moritz Jenz has penned his farewell to Celtic fans even though there has been no comment from the club on his departure.

The defender joined the club on loan from Lorient in July and made 19 first team appearances, mainly alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers.

That run of fixtures covered the Champions League with Jenz one of just six players to start all of Celtic’s group stage matches.

Since the season resumed after the World Cup break Carl Starfelt has started every match, when Carter-Vickers missed the games against St Mirren and Morton Ange Postecoglou turned to new signing Yuki Kobayashi.

It might have been convenient for Postecoglou to tell Jenz that he was still part of his plans and that he hadn’t decided on whether to retain him but it seems that an adult conversation took place with a mature decision taken, giving Jenz time to look at other options.

Schalke 04 has been mentioned as an option but after a 6-1 defeat from RB Leipzig on Tuesday night relegation looks inevitable with just nine points picked up from 17 matches.

Dear Celtic family, I’m sad to say that I’m leaving the club after a short time, it’s been for me a fantastic period at the club. I‘m very proud and honoured to have been a part of the Celtic Football Club. Like I said at the beginning of my time it was and it has been a dream.

The fans of Celtic will always have a special place in my heart, they are kind, honest and passionate. I want to thank everyone that works at Celtic, from the staff to the people taking care of us players in the stadium and in the training ground. I’m very lucky to have been part of such a fantastic squad of players, it’s really a TEAM and a Family Everyone is fighting for each other to make history for this great Club and I‘m gonna miss them so much!

A massive thank you to Mr Postecoglu for giving me the opportunity to play for this fantastic club. It has been an honour to work with him and his team.

Well I guess I have to cut it short now 🙂

Here we go again, I am on the road again.

Hopefully one day I can come back to see Paradise.

Shame to see him go ,was a decent defender and seems like a very decent guy,I’m sure he was just as good as Starfelt but however things move on ,all the best mercedes.
