Keith Jackson and David McCarthy have both given up on Alfredo Morelos.

Into his 11th transfer window there is no sign of transfer interest in the Colombian who will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Back in August Giovanni van Bronckhorst slaughtered Morelos but with Antonio Colak joining Kemar Roofe in the treatment room Micky Beale hasn’t had any other option that to put his faith in the former HJK Helsinki star.

Over the last six years the Daily Record has shared hundreds of Morelos transfer tales but today their readers are discovering the truth about interest in Alfie:

Alfredo Morelos…it’s increasingly unlikely he’ll sign a new deal so does Ross Wilson try to find a buyer this month or keep him for the remainder of the campaign?

KEITH: That’s a bit like shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted. Wilson has mishandled the Morelos situation quite spectacularly. What difference does it make now if he takes a £500,000 fee or keeps him on board for the remainder of the season? In any case, the decision should be Michael Beale’s to make.

DAVID: The league’s just about gone, so is it worth keeping him for a crack at two cups? Not if you can get him off the wage bill and maybe persuade someone to part with a few bob for him. With Colak and Roofe getting back to fitness, that would make more sense.

The fitness of Colak and Roofe seems only slightly more reliable than John Souttar and Filip Helander.
