With Nicolas Raskin expected to become Micky Beale’s second and final signing of the January transfer window the Daily Record has sprung into action.
Signing a Belgium u-21 internationalist is a decent achievement but that isn’t enough for a readership brought up on moonbeams, signing stars wanted by the biggest clubs in the business and future Balon d’Or contenders.
The Record has placed its trust in a little known Belgian website to get the precise details of the transfer fee and as usual added in some of the clubs that Raskin has snubbed in favour of training sessions under Beale alongside John Lundstram and Ryan Jack.
Step forward Napoli, Galatasaray and Marseille, for the Turkish side it is a double blow as they once again missed out on signing Ianis Hagi.

But according to new information by Sudinfo, while Liege will receive their original demand and potential future fee on Raskin’s next move, the Ibrox club have managed to secure their man for half of that €2m up-front, coming in at approximately £881k.
It is a deal that comes with substantial add-ons to reach the original asking price, with bonuses included in the contract potentially costing Rangers an additional €700k-800k (£617k-£705k).
Those terms have proven enough to beat other European offers. Bundesliga club Stuttgart had offered €1.4m (£1.2m) to Standard Liege but the bonuses were much less compared to the Glasgow giant’s equivalent.
Spanish interest also cropped up from Mallorca, offering up the same fee Rangers had. Their attempt was in vain while Napoli, Club Brugge, Galatasaray and Marseille have all been touted as potential suitors in recent weeks.
UPDATE: The Raskin deal has now been confirmed, joining Todd Cantwell after Beale had looked deep into the eyes of more than four transfer targets.
