Michael Stewart is convinced that Celtic’s draw at Ibrox yesterday has effectively sealed the SPFL title.

After a rocky half hour spell in the second half Celtic pushed for an equaliser, four attack minded substitutions were made with Kyogo Furuhashi joined in attacked by Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Two minutes from the end of regulation time three of those substitutes- Jota, Aaron Mooy and Giakoumakis created an opening for Kyogo who drove the ball high into the net.

Seven added minutes were played, there was no further scoring with the gap at the top of the table remaining at nine points.

The reactions of both sets of supporters at the final whistle told its own story. For the home fans it was an opportunity lost, Celtic supporters realised that their side had got away with one when they were well short of their best.

Listening in to Rory Loy argue that the SPFL title race isn’t over on Sportsound, the Glasgow Times reports:

Host Kenny MacIntyre came in: “You clearly disagree with that?”

Michael Stewart: “Well, absolutely.”

He continued: “Just to go back to the point, the reason that it’s over Kenny is because they’ve played 20 games so far this season and Celtic have dropped five points. They’re not going to drop nine points. That would also mean that Rangers would need to win every single point available to even get into the hunt.

It’s not going to happen. That goal by Kyogo at the end is what has basically won Celtic the title in my opinion.”

Should Michael Nicholson demand publication of conversations between Collum and Beaton?

On Saturday Celtic are at home to Kilmarnock with the opportunity to go 12 points clear at the top with Michael Beale’s side in action away to Dundee United the following day.

The league title was over in November ! That’s right November , pre world cup break with a full 6 months to play … Not only that ,Ange used the Derby game as an introduction for a brand new player ,he played his 3rd choice winger in James Forrest , yet the tribute act could not beat Celtic in front of their baying fans ,.. Oh and I forgot to mention ,there was a strong rumour that the Celtic squad endured a bad winter virus bug all week pre game … Back over to you Mr Loy …
