Ange Postecoglou has admitted that progress has been made with incomings and outgoings as peek activity approaches in the January transfer window.

Celtic got off to a flyer with the signings of Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata all completed before the window officially opened on January 1.

Since the tail end of November there has been speculation over Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis leaving the club even though they are both contracted through until May 2026.

Both players were involved in last Saturday’s Viaplay Cup Final win over Kilmarnock at Hampden but that hasn’t halted speculation over their futures.

Italian side Monza were strongly linked with Juranovic until last week while Sampdoria and Urawa Red Diamonds are reported to be keen on signing Giakoumais.

QUESTION: The usual question, where are we with transfers, is there anybody imminently coming into the club?

AP: At the moment, progress on incomings and outgoings but nothing confirmed yet, so obviously getting towards the tale end of the window and I expect progress over the next few days.

QUESTION: In terms of Giorgos do you see him still being a Celtic player at the end of January?

AP: As I’ve said, until I hear otherwise I expect them all to be Celtic players, but there has been progress with all those kind of issues, I guess that over the next few days we’ll see how it all plays out.

Overnight reports from South Korea have suggested that Celtic are close to completing a deal to sign Oh Hyeun- Gyu from Suwon Bluewings.
