A report from Italy has claimed that the transfer of Josip Juranovic is on hold until Manchester United’s intentions are known.

Monza have been strongly linked with the Celtic defender since the turn of the year but there seems to be no immediacy about a move.

Since he left for the World Cup Finals in November it has been expected that Juranovic will be on the move this month, that belief was underlined when Celtic paid Montreal CF £3m to sign Alistair Johnston.

The Canadian internationalist has started Celtic’s last two matches but approaching the halfway point in the month Juranovic remains in Scotland.

Tuttomercatoweb reports:

Josip Juranovic was one of the great protagonists of the World Cup in Qatar. The Croatian right-back linked to Celtic by a contract until 2026 knows that this is the right transfer window to make the leap in quality and is waiting for the best offer.

To date, the most interesting advances have come from Manchester United and that’s why the side born in ’95 has put all the other negotiations on standby, including those with Turin and Monza.

The red devils are interested, they would first like to free up a place by finding accommodation in Wan-Bissaka, and have asked Juranovic to wait a few more days.

Despite lots of speculation there hasn’t been much movement so far during the transfer window.

Wan Bissaka has 18 months left to run on his Old Trafford contract, unless a club can better his current terms he is unlikely to move on which could have a knock on effect on Juranovic.
