Hellas Verona have completed the loan signing of Oliver Abildgaard after his Celtic deal was terminated.
The midfielder joined Celtic on loan from Rubin Kazan in August but after making nine substitute appearances he hasn’t featured since the World Cup break.
With Aaron Mooy forcing his way into Ange Postecoglou’s first team plans and Tomoki Iwata signed this month it has been obvious for a while that Abildgaard was surplus to requirements.

With six players contending for three midfield places, including captain Callum McGregor, midfield is one area of the side that Celtic have strength in depth with David Turnbull and Matt O’Riley both currently outside the starting XI.
At his media conference today Postecoglou made it clear that players will be moving on today with the loan signing of Abildgaard and Yosuke Ideguchi the most likely players to be on the move. The Celtic boss isn’t expecting any deadline day arrivals.
