The future of Kevin Nisbet looks like being dragged through all the way on Transfer Deadline Day.

On Friday the striker seemed destined to join Millwall after terms were agreed between all parties but on the brink of completing that move Nisbet called it off.

That immediately sparked speculation that another club was on the scene with the 25-year-old long rumoured to be a target for Celtic.

Relations between Celtic and Hibs have always been tetchy with Peter Lawwell’s botched negotiations for the transfer of John McGinn still an issue at both clubs.

New Wigan boss Shaun Maloney worked with Nisbet for a short spell when he was in charge at Easter Road with The Sun reporting on his interest in the striker.

HIBS have rejected a double bid from Wigan for Kevin Nisbet and Josh Campbell.

New Latics boss Shaun Maloney has targeted the two players he worked with during his ill-fated time in charge at Easter Road.

But the offers tabled for both players by the English Championship club fall below the Hibees’ valuation.

Nisbet, 25, turned down a move to Millwall just last week after the clubs agreed a £2.4million deal. But Wigan hoped to nick the hitman for a fee more than HALF that amount.

Oh Hyeon-gyu looks to be Celtic’s second choice striker but either in this window or in the summer it could be a position that Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen.
