The Walter Smith quote that the Gullible can never repeat

Ange Postecoglou’s media conference this afternoon has unleashed an incredible amount of anger and abuse from the Gullible.

Knowing that Monday virtually closed the door on their title challenge was one thing but realising that it required the combined might of Willie Collum and John Beaton to prevent an away win kind of undermines their faith in the Micky Beale Revolution.

While their apologists perform all sorts of gymnastics and dig up a Q and A document rather than the Laws of the Game deep down they know that an off form Celtic were wrongly denied a victory on Monday.

Postecoglou expressed things brilliantly at his media conference. He could have said that if the Goldson handball was at the other end a penalty would have been given, but he never. He didn’t offer the media that open goal.

He was more subtle than that, he suggested the scenario that had ‘Rangers’ been denied a penalty in those circumstances the fall out would have been mighty. Bears have been trying all day to come up with a complaint about what was said.

The Michael Smith penalty at Tynecastle was hinted at, everyone knows how that compares with decisions made since then.

Walter Smith was the Doyen of Dignity- until his team lost when Mr Murphy would get a name check and we all know why that surname stood out.

There was however one quote from Smith that was bang on the money- in this case he got things 100% right.
