On Monday Keith Jackson got the ball rolling when he awarded Micky Beale the ‘Matching Celtic’s Numbers’ Trophy.
With Celtic still nine points clear and nine matches closer to winning the SPFL title it seemed a desperate attempt by the Daily Record veteran to provide loyal bears with some good news.
Grasping the baton with some joy today is Barry Ferguson, back in September he reassured Record readers that his old team-mate Gio had Ange Postecoglou ‘sussed’.
Another hiding at Celtic Park was followed by a record breaking campaign in the Champions League and van Bronckhorst was collecting his pay-off in time for some special Christmas shopping.
Today Barry is sharing his excitement over the phycological war triggered by Beale’s comments that the Celtic manager is lucky.
When Micky says lucky he doesn’t mean lucky he means something different, it is actually a compliment but according to Barry it has riled the Celtic boss.
The former Alloa boss, who employed Boab Malcolm as the brains of his management team, believes that we are now witnessing a follow up to Fergie v Wenger!
It would be priceless to discover what Postecoglou thinks of the local media. We get a glimpse once or twice a week during his broadcast media conferences but off air he must be in stitches over the desperate attempts to big up his third Ibrox adversary while trying to package him on the first train to Leeds.

Since Beale started shooting his mouth off about Ange and Celtic there hasn’t been one week where he’s closed the gap. Virtually every week Celtic have increased their lead at the top. The old saying “sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good” must apply here then. ?????

This entire story shows the Daily Ranger doesnt understand Ange. He didnt say he was more worried about his dinner to disrespect Beale. He said it because his focus is on Celtic and only Celtic. It doesnt matter who the other managers are, you just have to keep winning your games

Saw this and howled with laughter. Beyond basic professionalism – which Ange seems to give every manager – I don’t think it’s managerial rivalry or debate. The suggestion of it is hilarious.
