Yosuke Ideguchi is reported to be in negotiations to join Avispa Fukuoka on loan.

The midfielder joined Celtic alongside Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda but had his hoops career effectively ended in his only start away to Alloa in the Scottish Cup.

A brutal attack from Mouhamed Niang resulted in a yellow card from Don Robertson but the SFA retrospectively upgraded that to red which was no consolation to Ideguchi.

With Hatate and Matt O’Riley making an instant impact at Celtic Ideguchi was restricted to a couple of substitute appearances as Ange Postecoglou’s side powered to the title.

During the summer transfer window Aaron Mooy and Oliver Abildgaard were added to Postecoglou’s midfield options with Ideguchi and James McCarthy surplus to requirements.

Japanese site Sponichi reports:

It was revealed on the 6th that J1 Fukuoka is moving to pick up former Japan national team MF Yosuke Ideguchi (26) from Celtic (Scotland). According to multiple sources, it is a time-limited transfer. Negotiations are said to have reached a dead end.

Dynamo, who has an overwhelming amount of exercise, the ability to capture the ball, and a middle shot with a punch, made his second overseas challenge in January 2010 from Gamba Osaka. However, he could not win the trust of Director Postecoglou, and in the past year, he has only played in six official games. He hasn’t played a single game this season.

Considering returning to the J League this winter, including the old club G Osaka and Nagoya. Negotiations with Fukuoka, who were looking for volunteers, seem to have advanced rapidly.

Although he was raised at G Osaka Academy, he is from Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

He grew up in Fukuoka until he graduated from elementary school. He has not been selected for the Japanese national team since December 2019, but he is still 26 years old.

He aims to participate in the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by three countries for the first time in history, and will make a comeback in his hometown.

The Japanese transfer window remains open until April 24. Like Hatate and Maeda, Ideguchi is under contract with Celtic until May 2026.
