If there is one group of fans that should maybe let the Manchester City story float over their heads without comment it would be the Gullible & Deluded from Ibrox.

Imagine the outrage of a club setting up secret deals in order for them to sign players that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford to deny other clubs trophies, titles, European places and prize money?

Welcome to the Murray Years at Ibrox where the former chairman ran a Disguised Remuneration scam that denied HMRC tens of millions in order for stars like Stefan Klos, Artur Numan, Barry Ferguson, Tore Andre Flo, Ronald de Boer, Neil McCann, Alex Rae, Billy Dodds, Kris Boyd, Bob Malcolm, Steven Thompson and dozens of others to be paid more than their club could afford.

Celtic suffered more than any other club as they were denied five SPL titles while others like Motherwell, Falkirk and Queen of the South lost cup finals to a club financially doped fielding ineligible players.

Stewart Regan, Neil Doncaster and the clubs affected seem happy to move on and forgive the crimes of the past but fans of the clubs most effected haven’t forgot the details, the denial and cover ups.

Unfortunately for City there is an appetite for punishment from EPL clubs with Liverpool most impacted by the financial gymnastics from the Etihad.

Self awareness is something that few Ibrox fans possess, as they waded in to slaughter City there was off the radar records of irony elsewhere in Scottish football.

Radio Scotland’s Sports department have decided to leave the issue to their less neutered cousins south of the border.

You can see Kenny McKintyre at Radio sevco doing an impersonation of Donald Finlay trying to talk for sevco if ever any comparisons had to be matched with City.
