For the best part of an hour today some Ibrox fans were daring to dream.

Inspired by Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin against Kilmarnock, Micky Beale’s side played like world-beaters for 45 minutes before hanging on for a 3-1 victory to cut the gap at the top down to six points and pile the pressure onto Celtic.

Six minutes into today’s match at Paisley and the words hoodoo and jinx were being rolled out after Mark O’Hara opened the scoring from 12 yards out after good link up play between Andrew Dallas and David Dickinson.

At half time Celtic were trailing 1-0, the As It Stands SPFL table was looking good with Kyogo Furuhashi managing just two first half touches as Celtic toiled in their silver/grey kit.

The hopes of every bear remained high until 11 minutes into the second half when a grounded Jota equalised from a ridiculous angle, five minutes later Alistair Johnston sort of scored his first Celtic goal off the back of O’Hara.

Suddenly the goals were flying in, for the second time in a month three substitutes were on the scoresheet as Celtic ran out 5-1 winners.

As well as restoring their nine point lead another two goals were added to the goal difference cushion, some say it is the hope that kills them but it is the clock ticking towards April 8 that is worrying most loyal bears.
