Ange answers the misguided Kenny Miller question

Ange Postecoglou has the same level of trust in Liel Abada and Sead Haksabanovic as experts such as Kenny Miller.

At the weekend the former Huddersfield Town assistant manager, a job he held down for three months before returning to the comfort of media work, was shouting off about why Liel Abada should be starting more matches.

It seems to have escaped Miller’s attention that the young Israeli winger has been involved in all 28 of Celtic’s SPFL matches.

Once upon a time being a substitute was a real slight, someone out the picture for back-up or emergency use only.

Postecoglou and the five substitute rule has changed that, it is very rare for any winger to play 90 minutes for Celtic.

Discussing Sead Haksabanovic, the Celtic boss told The Herald:

I know people get fixated on starts but I get fixated on guys contributing. Sead is certainly doing that. He’s contributing every time he’s been on.

He’s had a couple of disruptions through the year where he’s not had an extended run in the team because of a couple of injuries or other players doing really well in his position.

But he’s doing really well in training and he’s making an impact in games. If the opportunity arises for him to start then I’m sure he’ll do well.

That’s not the most important thing for me, it’s him contributing to the side. We are going to need that as you saw the other night Daizen Maeda picked up an injury and James Forrest will be out for a little while.

All of a sudden we have gone from five wingers to three. That’s why we have these games ready to play and I’m sure Haksa will be ready to do that.

Rocco Vata would be the next winger in line but the teenager has been out injured for two months, tomorrow’s match against Hearts will be played to a finish.

Did you notice the timing of Miller’s criticism towards Celtic the other day ? Perfect timing for him to co commentate for BBC Scotland at Easter Road for Hibs’ league game ! There is no such thing as bad publicity ….
