Micky Beale is talking his way into a battle that he won’t ever win- defending the Ibrox board against the anger of loyal bears.

The current boss might claim to understand everyfingk about the club but he has been at Ibrox for five minutes compared to the generations of fans that pay his wages.

Staring at another likely Celtic title win makes uncomfortable viewing for a group brought up with a completely misplaced sense of superiority.

When it is pointed out that St Johnstone have won more honours in the last decade things get more uncomfortable with recent evidence suggesting that things aren’t going to get better any time soon.

Watching their side labour to narrow defeats while Celtic pile in the goals from all angles is too obvious to ignore.

At Hampden Beale had the chance to lay down a marker in the Viaplay Cup Final but bottled it- afraid to risk his January signings as Ange Postecoglou picked up his third trophy since taking over from Neil Lennon.

The backlash from Ibrox fans has been fierce. Two weeks ago Beale’s marathon media sessions were welcomed, now with Celtic looking unstoppable fans are restless about the lack of action from the board that they cheered into power exactly eight years ago.

Defending his paymasters, Beale told The Sun:

There was a change of manager, another manager came in, he won the Scottish Cup and got to a European final, but fell away a bit in the league.

Celtic’s form has been very good. In most other years, the points tally Rangers got might have won the league anyway. I wasn’t here in that period, but we were very dominant in the last 18 months before I left.

Some things haven’t worked out, but at the same time Celtic have gone on a really good run. And that’s it.

When it’s a two-team battle like it has been for the last few years then you only have to slip a little bit and that can be really important.

Beale doesn’t realise that excuses don’t wash with Ibrox fans even though Celtic have dominated their city rivals in every decade since the sixties except one.

On April 8 Beale gets another opportunity to defeat Celtic, if he flops for a third time the anger of loyal bears will extend from the boardroom to the dug-out.

Will Micky Beale last one year as manager at Ibrox?

Yes, his outstanding coaching will soon shine though

Always going on, I wasn’t here, blowing his trumpet about him and slippy , what he is going to do in his rattling on talk, another dud.

Unlike Pedro, he wasn’t previously a bullfighter, but he sure as hell is a prime bullsh1tter. How long before he starts banging on about caravans and barking dogs and doing his interviews whilst hiding in a bush to escape the angry hordes of the unwashed? What a balloon this guy is.
