At Hampden last Sunday Kyogo Furuhashi took the acclaim with two goals to decide the Viaplay Cup Final, again.

It is fair to say that he wasn’t quite as influential in yesterday’s match at St Mirren, according to Sky Sports he had just two touches in the first half.

Despite that stat he still did some damage, panicking Charles Dunne into a short pass-back then dragging the Celtic striker to the ground to leave his side facing more than 45 minutes a man short.

Jota’s equaliser yesterday won’t be recalled like a Hampden cup final striker but it was every bit as vital with Kyogo quite happy to share his joy on Twitter.

The grounded winger instinctively fired the ball forward, across the line towards goal and the far post, striking the woodwork and rolling in just ahead of a despairing St Mirren defender.

Once Celtic were 2-1 in front Kyogo was substituted, with the nine point lead restored Celtic can now look forward to a double-header against Hearts starting on Wednesday night in the SPFL as they return to home soil after two significant wins on the road.
