Only one crumb of comfort for Robbie Neilson

Robbie Neilson had no excuses to offer as he watched Celtic beat Hearts 3-0 in the Scottish Cup at Tynecastle.

On Wednesday night the Hearts boss focussed on a far fetched red card claim on Alexandro Bernabei, grabbing the headlines with a claim that an opponent needs de-capacitated for a Celtic player to be sent off.

It was a fairly routine victory for Celtic today after a second minute goal from Aaron Mooy set the tone for the afternoon.

Before Kyogo Furuhashi back-heeled Celtic’s second goal Joe Hart had a double save which gave Neilson something to hang onto in his post match interviews.

I thought that we recovered well, got a foothold in the game and got some opportunities but yeah, the key moments like that (Hart’s double save) didn’t happen for us today.

You’ve got to credit Celtic as well, I thought that they played very well. I thought that they saw out the game, good experience at the right times.

Cameron Carter-Vickers scored Celtic’s third goal in the 80th minute with Hearts fans streaming out of Tynecastle as soon as the ball hit the net.

Celtic have a free week ahead of them before facing Hibs at home next Saturday followed by the first international break of the year.

Will the tramp now gain the “Lucky Manager” tag now? With been totally outclassed and played and only real comfort is by only losing by 3 goals

Shut Up, Shut Up, Shut Up Robbie Neilson! He can’t even get any closer to Celtic, never mind close! So Shut Up!
Him and his Lieutenant Halliday Talk The Talk, but they can’t never Walk The Walk.! A couple of lame ducks, the both of them!
No Hearts players were close to decapitation today, so what’s the current excuse? None!
Celtic did play well, as usual – but only because your team let them! And in truth, Celtic saw out the game from the third minute onwards after scoring the first goal. Your team never even laid a glove on us! You did better on Wednesday night, than you did today!
Which goes to show that you learned nothing from the other night – and you might as well have stayed in your bed today!
