The Daily Record has shed some light on what they describe as cryptic quotes from Liel Abada.

On Friday morning a report from Israel via Google Translate claimed that the winger had told an Israeli media outlet that there were ‘ things behind’ his lack of starting appearances for Celtic.

That could cover many things but in an age of constant transfer speculation it wasn’t difficult to join the dots to suggest that Abada was frustrated.

The 21-year-old has played in all of Celtic’s 28 SPFL matches to date but only 10 have been from the kick-off.

Including James Forrest Ange Postecoglou has six wingers to select from, very rarely do they play the full 90 minutes with two wingers coming off the bench between the 60th and 70th minutes of not earlier. Abada was a half time substitute last week away to St Mirren.

Picking up on the issue the Record reports:

Daizen Maeda is set to miss Tynecastle with a knee knock but Postecoglou insists he has no issues around Liel Abada. Record Sport understands the wide man is unhappy at cryptic quotes credited to him surfacing in his homeland about his future and his boss is confident the youngster is on board.

Postecoglou said: “He’s fine, mate. I just go with how they are playing and Liel is in a great space right now. He’s done very well for us and he can still improve. I’m not worried about him.”

Lost in translation is a time served excuse in relation to footballer quotes but in this case ‘things behind’ coming from an interview in Hebrew is very understandable.

More shite stirring from the DR. It read to me like Abada is defending Ange’s rotation system, not criticising it. In Ange’s squad there’s no first eleven, it’s a first sixteen and the squad as a whole seem to get that.

Every person that has nothing to do with us stirring up the brown stuff , maybe they should look at the other lot and start commenting about their free spending which they do not have, has anyone from that lot said anything about Wednesday night at hibs as regards to honouring and respect of their owner who passed away, pure evil scum.

Nothing the Daily Rangers says is worth printing.
