Sixteen months after running away from Ange Postecoglou serial loser Steven Gerrard was giving it large in a charity match today.

The serial loser never won an EPL title during his playing days but was back at Anfield today showing all of the mobility of Alfredo Morelos as he lined up alongside fellow legend Charlie Adam.

Late in the first half Liverpool were awarded a penalty with Gerrard managing to stay upright to send his shot past Artur Boruc.

In two full seasons in front of fans at Ibrox Gerrard never won a trophy in a two horse race, with special instructions in play during Lockdown he finally won a title before crashing out of the Champions League to Malmo.

At half-time Sevco had cancelled out their 2-0 first leg defeat, despite being down to 10 men the Swedish champions scored twice to go through to the play-off stage.

Gerrard saw the writing on the wall, racing off to Aston Villa, without the benefits of John Beaton, Willie Collum, Bobby Madden and Andrew Dallas he lasted just 40 matches being sacked with just 13 wins on his record.

Since being sacked on 20 October 2022 there has been no offers for his services despite the cheerleading of his media mates.
