Ange Postecoglou has made four changes from the Celtic side that beat St Mirren on Sunday for tonight’s match against Hearts.
Tony Ralston and Alexandro Bernabei come in at full-back, Matt O’Riley replaces Reo Hatate in midfield with Liel Abada starting on the right wing in place of Jota.
Abada was expected to come into contention for a start but changing both full-backs is a major surprise, Ralston hasn’t played since the 2-1 defeat of Livingston before Christmas.
Midweek matches have been a rarity since the end of January, with Hearts to be faced again on Saturday it seems that Postecoglou has decided on a little rotation.
Alistair Johnston, Jota and Hatate drop onto the bench but Greg Taylor isn’t included in the matchday squad.
Alan Muir is tonight’s match referee with Nick Walsh on VAR duty, Kevin Clancy will referee Saturday’s match between the same sides at Tynecastle.
CELTIC: Hart; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Bernabei; McGregor, Mooy, O’Riley; Abada, Kyogo, Maeda
SUBS: Bain, Johnston, Haksabanovic, Turnbull, Jota, Kobayashi, Oh, Iwata, Hatate
Yes, go with the changes. Ralston and Bernabbi need some kind of game time. AJ could use the rest, GT also. Liel needs a game and Reo needs a rest. Just takes a football genius to work it out though!
