The SPFL Premiership card will continue unaffected over the weekend of May 6 and 7.

English football has already made changes to the fixture list which was released back in June.

The first round of post split fixtures will go ahead as planned on May 6 and 7 after Police Scotland and Sky Sports have been consulted.

Tonight the Daily Record revealed:

Celtic’s hopes of wrapping up a quick fire title will not be delayed by the coronation of King Charles.

Record Sport understands the SPFL have no plans to rearrange the fixture list around three days of royal celebrations which begin with the new monarch’s crowning moment on Saturday, May 6. The defending champions are on target to wrap up the top flight that weekend – in the first match after the split – if they continue a winning streak which stretches back to the last Old Firm game on January 2.

And Hampden sources confirmed last night the Premiership card will not be put on hold, even though a large number of games will be moved south of the border. The entire round of English Championship fixtures has already been switched to Monday, May 8 with other matches from the Premier League down also expected to be affected by the event.

But our source said: “Football in Scotland will continue as usual. The celebrations will only cause a potential problem for clubs based around the London area because of police constraints.”

The make up of the top six could virtually be sealed this weekend if Livingston win away to St Mirren, putting David Martindale’s side four points ahead with three matches left to play, St Mirren face trips to Tynecastle and Ibrox before the break on April 22.

Should Stephen Robinson’s side win there will be seven teams in contention for places in the top six, as it stands Celtic will have faced the other five clubs twice at Celtic Park.

The hoops are due two home matches but there is bound to be attention on the first round of fixtures while a massive security event takes place in London.

The five post-split fixtures will be played over  May 6/7, May 13/14, May 20/21, the midweek of May 23/24 and the weekend of May 27/28.
