After the freworks of Celtic’s visit to Tynecastle in October today’s Scottish Cup tie was relatively free of VAR incidents.

Kevin Clancy kept a lid on things on the pitch with Willie Collum his extra set of eyes in the VAR studio for the pick of the weekend Scottish Cup ties.

Aaron Mooy’s second minute goal took the wind out of Hearts with Celtic constantly pushing and pressing for the second goal that would effectively kill Hearts off.

Down the right flank Alistair Johnston and Jota were a constant threat, 10 minutes from the break the Canadian was sending in a cross from just inside the penalty box when Andy Halliday made a typically late lunge.

Johnston did get his cross in but the Jambo utility man made sure that he wasn’t taking any further part in the move.

Strangely there was no pause for a video review, Viaplay Sport showed that there was contact inside the penalty box but this time Collum didn’t want to get involved.

In the 44th minute Kyogo Furuhashi did scored Celtic’s second with Cameron Carter-Vickers finishing the contest with an 80th minute header.

Gollum never wants to upset the apple cart. He is seriously compromised, since no one could be that incompetent.

Whatever he gets out of this corruption, I hope it’s worth it.

    Sold his soul for what?

Another example of VAR technology not being utilised as it should, Scottish officials are horrendously bad (;-0)

Dando, mate, Scottish officials horrendously good. Good at ignoring the obvious, and good at seeing the subjective. As long as they can they will.

      • David Brown says:

Listen guys it is nothing to do with incompetence it is blatant cheating as there are a group of 7 refs that the SFA swear are the best in the Scotland and i will name them Collum, Beaton, Clancy, Walsh, McLean, Robertson, Dickenson

This lot are the SFA’s bitches and you can 100% Guarantee that every single week these ref’s are involved in Rangers and Celtic matches most times Celtic get 1 in the middle and the other on VAR duty feel free to check if i am correct for the rest of the season.

If they are that good according to the SFA why so much controversy every week wrong calls missed calls and even errors that they themselves own up to after the game which is of no use to nobody as the result is already logged.

I watch and you will see that all these errors etc are favouring one club only THE RANGERS almost every time ‘Rangers’ are struggling the get help from one of the above in the form of a penalty kick or a Red card or both. They have been awarded more penalties than any other club in the league and have not been awarded a penalty against them.

But VAR will be the downfall of this corrupt lot and the end is nigh watch this space.

Penalty given against Celtic at Pittodrie December 2018 when Izaguirre did it to McGinn. Celtic need to raise this, just cos we won doesn’t make it okay

    • Joe Tague says:

Yes, being try to remember who was involved in that incident but suffice to say it was Collum and penalty to Abz

    Stonewaller

If that was Hearts not getting that there’d be a week long inquest how it didn’t even get checked

and Halliday would be on SSB on Monday night greeting about it being howler of the weekend with the full support of his pundit buddies Keevins etc

  • John says:

No comment from Hearts manager re this one?
Quick to demand a red card for tackle on Wed night.????

  • Joe says:

There is no question whatsoever that this was 100% a penalty kick and minimum yellow card, borderline red.
But the two corrupt officials were there to do a job, making sure there would be no penalty awards in our favour.
We are not in any way surprised.

  • Rab Tait says:

Even on hearts tv they were saying that they had gotten away with one.

  • Sean McGinley says:

    One word for them….Cheats !

  • Wullie bird says:

Try analysing wullie collums var decisions affecting Celtic and compare them with ones affecting ‘rangers’ try it with all the referees and var let’s see what they’re like it will show the cheats for what they are the whole lot of them are at it the sfa should hang there heads in shame

  • Gary Murray says:

Dodgy referee period ,sadly most referee’s are blatantly biased and Scotland should try the English approach where teams supported should NOT BE REFEREED OR VAR DECISIONS MADE but perhaps a better idea would be use English referee’s and officials to keep it totally HONEST AND NEUTRAL in Scotland ??????????

  • Sean McGinley says:

Think we’d be better with foreign refs, as Rangers are just an offspring of the English planters and as we see and hear frequently when Celtic travel in England, the anti-Irish racism is rooted in England.
