After more than a decade casting his expert eye over the finances of clubs from Ibrox it seems that Tom English can’t be trusted to explain to licence payers why Celtic are so far in front on and off the park.

With Kenny Macintyre providing group think the state broadcaster turned to Kieran Maguire to explain to them the differences between the two clubs. Alex Rae, Neil McCann or Steven Thompson could have provided equally comforting analysis.

All is good, the wage difference between the clubs is small, these things come in cycles and after two trophies in 11 years the Bears will soon be back on top.

No mention of the outstanding legal cases from Hummel, the Memorial Garden, the Wifi firm or the organisers of the Australian tour that they bailed out from. Plus some other cases that have still to come to light.

And certainly no mention of the Watch List from UEFA of clubs that are on the wrong side of Financial Stability Regulations.

When you place that package together against a rival that regularly posts profits on player trading, has 10,000 more tickets to sell and long standing and highly profitable commercial deals with firms like Adidas.

Over the weekend English, Macintyre and the usual suspects can dive back under the O** F*** comfort blanket, they all missed the boat in 2011 as they cheered Mister Whyte down Edmiston Drive, clearly no lessons have been learned from that with the credibility of the BBC on the same downward curve that English left at The Scotsman.

  • Duncan says:

I’ve not paid for the BBC Stealth Tax for about 8 years.
Saved a grand which has covered the cost of CTV and helping people out who are less fortunate than myself.
It’s very easy to do so.
Simply opt out and walk away.
