Borna Barisic is among the three nominees for Sevco’s Player of the Year Award.

The Croatian defender has had another underwhelming campaign of mediocrity but that has been good enough to get him in line for a gong ahead of stars like Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor and Ben Davies.

With two goals in the recent defeat from Celtic James Tavernier looks to be a strong favourite to pick up another pointless award.

Barisic was expected to be phased out by Ridvan Yilmaz this season but the young Turk has made virtually no impact under two different managers.

In November Barisic went off to the World Cup Finals in Qatar, played in one of Croatia’s matches then returned to play a role in the Micky Beale Revolution.

With one season left on his contract this could be the last chance for Ibrox fans to recognise the ability of the 30-year-old former Osijek star.
