Chris Sutton has criticised the post-split scheduling from the SPFL.

It seems like Sky Sports need to broadcast the presentation of the trophy has taken priority over everything else.

Celtic require three points to clinch the Premiership title but will start off away at Tynecastle and Ibrox with just 1,400 visiting fans allowed to attend.

Playing St Mirren at home on May 6 or 7 would have allowed 60,000 fans to watch a potential title clincher but that fixture has been put back to Match 36 with Sky Sports not screening the clash.

Reacting to the fixture announcement the Daily Record reports Sutton saying:

I’m sure they would still enjoy the lap of honour around Ibrox, even with no fans there. It is what it is, and the games had to be put in some particular order. But it does seem like they don’t want Celtic fans celebrating winning a title.

They’ll do that anyway, whether they are at home or in the pubs in Glasgow. We saw Hearts against Ross County, they looked a changed team under Steven Naismith. Celtic have got five games left and it’s just about getting over the line – and they’ll celebrate anyway. It’s a bit of a shame. St Mirren is the third game after the split so they could celebrate with their own fans then, that would be my focus as a player.

From a fans’ perspective, there would be an element of disappointment they won’t get the opportunity to play against an Aberdeen or St Mirren at home after the split. But I don’t think it’s any great surprise the way the fixtures have come out.

Aberdeen have been given the short straw of a third trip to Celtic Park, finishing the season at the venue that they started at in August.

The nature of the split with just five matches and the likelihood of some clubs playing three away matches is almost inevitable but playing in front of 1,400 away fans then zero away fans in potential title clinchers is hardly showcasing the SPFL to potential sponsors and investors.

Has anybody seen John Brown, whatever happened to that ALKIE and those deeds.

Very quiet on the sevco BIGOTS special guest star appearances this week in the media, they are usually crawling over each other to get their shite out there.

In this instance I don’t think there were many good options for the SPFL.
If Celtic had the first game after the split at home that would have meant three consecutive away games as, in all likelihood, we would get the trophy after the final game at home.
We are probably going to have as many fans at Tynecastle as we would have at Easter Road and way more than we would have at Ibrox.
It’s unfortunate but it won’t stop us celebrating when we do get over the line.

Justshatered says : au contraire, it’s not unfortunate, it’s deliberate.
Even at this late stage they are trying to derail us.
Hearts. (resurgent), Sevco ( biggest rival for the title) away from home for first two games out the hat.
( I say hat when in fact it’s the coordinated outpourings of a bunch of no mark, self entitled bigots desperate to halt us
and mean spirited enough to deny our support from attending a possible title clinching game).

We have five games to play. And three of them have to be away.
As we have such a large lead we were always going to have the last game at home so they believe they can present the trophy. Generally that’s what they attempt to do.
We actually should be going to Pittodrie for the second time but that would mean we have four away games which isn’t possible. I think Aberdeen have a bigger gripe than us as they are fighting for a European spot along with Hearts.
I personally don’t care where we win it as long as we do win it.
We will fill our stadium anyway.
As for Hearts and Sevco well we have to play them anyway and if we lose both of those we still have two of the last three games at home.

  • Scud Missile says:

And there we have it first out traps wee Quark shouting on a sevco win which will then set them up nicely for that summer revamp his words.

Watch in the coming days about how money is no issue to sevco with £5 and £10 million players being linked to the new klub.

A think there was 4 or 5 players mentioned in the daily sevco today everyone was a FREEBIE apart from one player with the name Miracle, what a belter of a name for that klub to be linked to as they need a right few of them.
Miracle,it would be a f*****g miracle if they found money to buy a player while dishing out those confetti shares again.

Hope you just picked up The Daily Sevco in a pub Scud and never purchased it or helped them financially by looking online…

To me it would be a very strange Celtic supporter who would put a half penny bit towards them –

Best to let Video Celts & Co report their evil actions towards our club and fans !

  • Thomas Mc Nairn says:

It’s an absolute disgrace you play all season to win the championship and you can’t celebrate with your own fans SPFL is just a joke.
