With five matches still to be played in the SPFL Premiership Micky Beale has conceded that his team will finish second.

Celtic still require three points to retain the trophy, travel to Ibrox in a fortnight but today Beale admitted defeat on the task that he took on in November.

Since taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Beale’s side have dropped eight points.

Tradition at both Ibrox club demands that they continue to battle until the last possible moment but in the midst of the Season Ticket Renewal campaign the current club boss has admitted defeat, something that isn’t in the DNA of Barry Ferguson.

They don’t have to prove anything to me, maybe too themselves and maybe too the fans for sure but obviously that will to win, that is what they signed up for coming here.

You know, this season we are going to finish second in the league, we’re runners-up in one competition and we want to go on and win the (Scottish) cup, that is clear and it will be bitterly disappointed if we don’t but we have to keep moving forward.

He could have said ‘it looks like we are going to finish second’ but he stated it as factual. If Celtic lose at Hearts on May 7 they go to Ibrox a week later, a home win in that match and Celtic could still require three points from three matches on the back of successive defeats.

Beale might fink that he knows everyfingk about everyfing but that was a slip of the tongue that will point against him.

If he loses on Sunday he will see another side to the loyal bears, the sort that was out in force in March 2020 after defeats to Hearts and Hamilton before Lockdown stepped in to save Steven Gerrard.

At today’s broadcast media conference no questions were asked about the Viaplay Cup Final comments from Ange Postecoglou that left Neil Banfield traumatised and unable to speak out for two months.

What a total eejit ? Phil has unique problem and seemingly it’s just him that has it????? Just him!!! Any other interpretation of unique anyone? Beale is one stupid man.

Someone should have asked him if he fancies a pint in the Grapes Bar or Louden then he will see a reception totally different from last appearance in these pubs.

If Micky Beale says the Championship Title is Celtic’s, then it must be!
That’s twenty three trophies in eleven years.
That’s not bad for a Club they claim is not that far in front of them.
Just a matter of twenty one trophies by my reckoning (in eleven years)!

Micky Beale Handed Us The Title!
