Neil Lennon is a transfer target for Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Nick Hammond is Hapoel’s Head of Football Operations, back in 2020 that duo linked up with Peter Lawwell to bring Ismaila Soro, Patryk Klimala, Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas and Diego Laxalt to produce the worst season this century.

Two years after resigning from Celtic Lennon has only added a short spell in Cyprus to his CV, it seems that UK clubs are looking for other qualities despite the success he enjoyed at Celtic other than in his final season.

Covering Lennon, The Sun reports:

And he’s been targeted to take charge of Hapoel Tel Aviv, who are in the relegation zone in the Israeli top flight after their league split.

Hapoel have former Celtic Head of Operations Nick Hammond as their sports director and he’s told his board that Lennon would be an ideal candidate.

Lennon himself even revealed in an interview last year that he would like to manage in Israel one day.

He said: “I would definitely consider coaching an Israeli team. Israeli clubs have had success in Europe and it’s somewhere that appeals to me.”

There are currently vacancies in Scotland at St Johnstone, Hearts and Aberdeen but Lennon doesn’t appear to be a candidate at any of those clubs.
