When Jonny McFarlane turns on an Ibrox player things must be grim.
The former Daily Record man is the driving force behind the Rangers Review as Newsquest fudges the lines between their old school publications and fan media.
Whatever the message is from Ibrox McFarlane can be counted on to deliver.
Hype up serial loser James Tavernier as the best player in Scotland? No problem. Barrie McKay better than Kieran Tierney? I can do that, jobs a good un.
Following yesterday’s defeat to Celtic social media hasn’t been kind to Ryan Kent, the former Liverpool starlet has taken as much criticism and abuse as any of his team-mates.
With one tweet McFarlane decided to highlight one of Kent’s failings- decision making.
Faced with a three on two and possession 25 yards from goal a shot on target is the least you’d expect, at the other end Kyogo would almost certainly have been seconds away from running off to celebrate.
Kent however has other ideas, with a pathetic return on terms of goals and assists he will always move away from goal, try the ridiculous or impossible pass then bow his head in shock as another move failed to come off.
With McFarlane instigating a pile on the last few weeks of Kent’s contract look like being even more miserable and pointless than most of the last five years.
Happened far too often Johnny….was illustrated so clearly by that incident with Kent and Morelos 2nd half. Reality is if this still above is jota on the ball with kyogo unmarked like Morelos it’s a goal 99% of the time

Jota squares that to Kyogo and it’s a goal
That’s why we are second best

There’s loads of examples of Kent in this position and 95% of them result in no goal

Kent and Morelos leaving will have very little impact on the team next season, their impact on the game is minimal

Ability to see the game, and make an instinctive pass is essential. There is acres of space. His head is down and he’s concentrating on keeping the ball under control. A big chance to do the simple thing missed.

One of the differences between us and Celtic; they play like every incursion is a chance, we play like it ‘might be but we have to make sure’.
Costs time, lets defenders back & leads to unsure, badly played passes.
There could be more of a psychological gap as an ability one

I know there are differing opinions but I think history will be kind to this call. If you go by data – consistently best player in Scotland over last five years. If you take a more traditional view look at the goals from RB. Top scorer in EL. Captain of the 55 team. Strong case. https://t.co/q4MlI0SG07

#Celtic‘s Kieran Tierney is a decent player but Barrie McKay is Scottish football’s most gifted talent – McFarlanehttps://t.co/5bp9sNdewj pic.twitter.com/YVLJYyDiq3

Should include Tavernier in the hall of lame, he’s not to be found when goals against are going in.
What about the most overweight player ever to wear the blue top made in Turkey ! Who would come out as the biggest winner of that contest ?
