Back in July some Aberdeen fans put on a strange welcome for Liam Scales.

Over the last decade or so Aberdeen have signed players on loan from various clubs including Ross McCrorie and Matty Pollok from Sunday’s winning side.

Scales seemed to strike a nerve with some Dons fans, like almost everyone else Adam Montgomery had a patchy time of it last season but Ryan Christie had a very successful season and a half at Pittodrie.

Like Montgomery Scales has had testi,ng times and disappointing results, he was in the side that lost to Darvel but refused to wilt, taking the tough times and battling through.

On Sunday he intercepted a pass from James Tavernier aimed at Alfredo Morelos, the outcome was spectacular.

You miss the point. Montgomery wasn’t very good at Aberdeen, but Glass was the manager. Goodwin told Aberdeen fans they would be excited by his superb left back skills the majority were underwhelmed to find itwas another loan deal – who was unavailable to play against the best team in the league, making any chance of victory near impossible. Never was the message meant to upset the player, but was aimed the Dave Cormack and board. We all know Christie was very influential for Aberdeen, but again never able to play v Celtic.
