Plans have emerged for a new hospitality venue literally in the shadow of the Lisbon Lions Stand at Celtic Park.

The venture appears to be independent of Celtic but looks very likely to be used as an extension to matchday hospitality with a capacity to host 940 people, up from the original plan in March 2020 to hold 700.

A Sports Bar was opened inside Celtic Park in October 2022 which is open on non-matchdays, today it will be showing the match at Kilmarnock followed by EPL fixtures.

The the Emirates Arena well established in the area there does appear to be a demand around Celtic Park for other facilities and ventures.

ReGlasgow reports from the latest update to the application:

The proposed venue would be hosting a multitude of different events ranging from live music, corporate dinners, weddings, fashion shows, food and drink events.

The proposals aim to provide a modestly sized venue of 940-person capacity that is to host primarily commercial music events but with the dual purpose of becoming a recreational space for the immediate Parkhead community.

The proposal will be supported by high quality bar and necessary ancillary facilities to host large gatherings along with complementary external amenity ‘yard’ space with temporary external street food or music events.

Rather than just show some standard plans for the venture from the G40 Events there are artists impressions of how the building will slot in to the Celtic Park footprint.

I thought Celtic where going to build the hotel complex there must be plenty of investors who would fund that project and would benefit the club.
