Sky Sports have apologised to the SFA after Andy Walker spilled the beans over the murky way that VAR is operating in the Scottish Premiership.

For four months fans and TV viewers have been kept in the dark that the Sky Sports commentary team has access to the conversation between VAR HQ and the matchday referee.

The comments of the referee are apparently kept quiet but speaking on a podcast Walker revealed that he had heard a VAR official say ‘ ‘the easiest way out of this, is if it’s offside’.

Rather than investigate the VAR official that didn’t want to award the correct decision the SFA and their referees are angry that Walker has exposed the secrecy surrounding refereeing decisions.

Late this afternoon Football Scotland reported:

Sky Sports have responded, however, and told Football Scotland when approached for a response: “Sky Sports has discussed the matter internally and provided the Scottish FA assurances with regard to permitted use of the VAR audio.

“Andy Walker has also admitted his regret over his comments and how they have been reported by the podcast company who invited him to their show.

We apologise to our colleagues at the Scottish FA with whom we have a strong relationship, and look forward to continuing to provide exclusive live coverage of the Scottish Premiership.”

The stitch up continues.

Kevin Clancy will referee Saturday’s Glasgow Derby with Nick Walsh on VAR duty, Walker is expected to be on duty for Sky Sports.

The former Celtic and Scotland striker has been broadcasting for over 20 years and knows the boundaries and confidentiality issues, especially with Scottish referees.

Don’t think you can read too much re. into this. Ten words, a part of a sentence, almost all of the words are one-syllable.
But Walker will be in trouble for breaching confidentiality though.
    Ouch!

It’s no secret that these peepil are anti Celtic and anti Catholic. Well done Walker but we’ve known since day one that VAR was never going to be applied to us fairly.

      re. cheating that should be.
It’s all very well to know what they are but you have to be able to prove it, to do anything about it!

Walker now apologises for speaking out of turn, but he cant put the genie back in the bottle.

It’s more likely he revealed the Corrupt Sysrem it is. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors, as the song suggests
