Ange Postecoglou feels like some Celtic players accepted that today wasn’t going to be their day.

Last week, after match 34 the SPFL Premiership title was clinched but at Ibrox today there was something lacking.

A small drop in intensity could be anticipated but playing as champions little went right for the visitors in their second SPFL defeat of the season.

Passing was slack, marking wasn’t tight, mistakes were made and chances missed with Oh Hyeon-gyu and Liel Abada the first half culprits.

Celtic did enjoy some sustained periods of possession in the second half but there was a lack of purpose and perhaps belief in how they played.

Picking up on the post-match media conference, The Sun reports Postecoglou saying:

In the second half, I just felt we almost accepted our fate rather than sort of going out there to try and change the course of the game. They are human beings and they have had an outstanding season.

We had the euphoria of winning the title last week and it is kind of weird winning it and you are having to play away again.

The first Glasgow Derby of next season will be played at Ibrox, a very different performance will be demanded from the Celtic boss.
