Ange Postecoglou has revealed that he has had text messages congratulating him for winning the SPFL title from MOST Premiership managers.

No further detail was given with the obvious conclusion being over who is in and who isn’t.

After 27 years in management developing a thick skin Postecoglou doesn’t get overly involved in side-shows, his bottom line is on the pitch where he has delivered a second title to make it four trophies out of five with one still up for grabs since his move to Scotland.

This week there has been more media debate about a Guard of Honour than the prospects of Celtic strengthening on an already impressive season but the hoops boss quickly came to terms with the local landscape.

Discussing the Guard of Honour, Glasgow Times reports Postecoglou saying:

It’s just symbolic. Real respect comes from different ways. I’ve had text messages from just about every Premiership manager congratulating us on our season and we are fierce competitors every week. That’s how you show respect. You know it’s there and you don’t need any grand gestures.

Alongside Stephen Robinson, James McPake and Darren Young, Postecoglou has been nominated for Manager of the Year by PFA Scotland.
