When the solution is Kemar Roofe you know that you have big problems.

With Alfredo Morelos checked out Micky Beale has been unable to turn to Antonio Colak or Roofe to solve his side’s scoring problems, or his big hole as the Daily Record term it.

Believed to be the highest earner at the club, Roofe has made six brief substitute appearances this season, the last one on February 18 before calling off injured from the Viaplay Cup Final.

After last summer’s trip to Turkey for an expensive hair weave much was expected of Roofe this season but Beale has hardly been able to work with the striker that he helped bring to Ibrox in the summer of 2020.

His social media content has been regular, usually sharing imagers of football boots or an egg-timer to suggest that he is about to return to action.

Discussing Mole’s big hole, the Daily Record reports:

Roofe shared a message on Instagram that suggests he’s doing everything he can to get back from his latest set-back, a calf problem that has ruled him out since he scored in a 3-0 win over Livingston back in February.

The frontman is at the world-renowned Aspetar clinic which describes itself as a “leading specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, and the first of its kind in the Middle East, located in Qatar. Aspetar is staffed by some of the world’s leading sports medicine practitioners and researcher.”

With a year left on his Ibrox contract Roofe knows that the big pay days are rapidly coming to an end.
