Celtic are reported to be showing interest in Zan Vipotnik of Maribor.
According to Football Scotland interest has been registered with the players agent who looks to be the likely source of the story.
Celtic have effectively got by over the last two seasons with just two strikers- Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis followed by Oh Hyeon-gyu.
Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada can play through the centre if necessary but Albian Ajeti dropped quickly out of contention once Ange Postecoglou brought in alternatives.
With Kyogo the clear first choice striker opportunities would be very limited for a third striker but the Celtic boss likes to plan at least one transfer window ahead.

Celtic are considering a bid for Maribor striker Zan Vipotnik but face competition for the highly-rated 21-year-old.
Vipotnik has impressed for Maribor this season with 19 goals in 32 league games for the Slovenian giants, who didn’t have a season to remember as they finished third and will enter the Europa Conference League.
Ange Postecoglou had been looking to add a third striker to his squad over the last year but has continued with two when Oh Hyeon-gyu came in to replace Giorgos Giakoumakis.
And now Football Scotland can exclusively reveal that Vipotnik is on a list of targets and their interest has been registered with his agent but it is still at a very early stage. No official bid has been made yet but it’s understood he would cost Celtic around £3.5million if they were to snap him up over the summer window, with the attacker under contract at Maribor until the summer of 2026.
The transfer window doesn’t officially open until June 14 but signings can be announced at any time with only their registration held back.
In previous windows Postecoglou has moved to get his business done early, with the first pre-season match of the season on July 19 the Celtic boss will be aiming to have new faces settled in for the trip to Japan.
