Ian Maxwell wants to strengthen the relationship between Hampden and Ibrox.

The CEO of the SFA conducted a couple of media interviews today covering a range of issues.

Women’s football, the kick-off time for the Scottish Cup Final and the creation of a Conference League have all been widely covered but The Sun have details on another issue in Maxwell’s Diary:

In a wide-ranging interview Maxwell has also revealed he hopes to strengthen the SFA’s relationship with the new Rangers regime.

Ibrox chairman John Bennett and incoming CEO James Bisgrove have vowed to communicate better with Hampden beaks.

And Maxwell added: “I don’t know the new chairman John well. But we’ve got a meeting in the diary to get to know each other.

We’ve always had a good relationship with all the clubs, and I’m more than happy to keep that open dialogue going.

It’s for the benefit of the game. Everybody needs to be working off the same page.”

Most of the Ibrox issues have been directed at the SPFL where they refused to take part in the Cinch sponsorship deal.

Refereeing matters are dealt with by the SFA with Micky Beale highly critical of Kevin Clancy following a defeat from Celtic, the Ibrox boss escaped any punishment for his comments.
