Micky Beale is apparently on the brink of his third Championship swoop of the summer transfer window- WITH A TRANSFER FEE for the first time.

Jonathan Panzo started 24 matches on loan at Coventry City last season with Nottingham Forest keen to cash in on a defender behind Joe Worrell and Scott McKenna for a first team place.

As everyone knows Beale used to coach kids at Chelsea, leaving the club in 2012 but following the progress of every player that he ever coached or saw in action against his teams.

The Daily Record reports:

Rangers are edging closer to securing a £2.5 million deal for Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo.

Record Sport understands both clubs are now in discussions, trying to thrash out the 22-year-old’s move to Ibrox. Gaffer Michael Beale is a long-time admirer of Panzo having coached him at Chelsea as a kid. And he’s had the former Monaco player watched several times this season while he’s been on loan at Coventry City.

Beale is in the hunt for a left-sided centre-back, with Panzo and Arsenal ace Auston Trusty his two main targets for the position. A deal for the Forest player now looks more likely with Rangers in advanced talks to bring Panzo to Glasgow. Championship clubs Coventry and West Brom are also keen on the ex-England Under-19 captain.

But Rangers are at the front of the queue due to Beale’s connections to the player and dialogue will continue this week. Also, former Ibrox sporting director Ross Wilson is now in a similar role at the City Ground.

Hunting for a left-sided centre-back suggests that Beale isn’t impressed by former Liverpool star Ben Davies, signed by Wilson last summer.

It looks like the champions of Europe , Manchester City , will have their work cut out to keep its treble winning squad of superstars intact ! That’s if the SMSM have their say on it . Those cowboy scoops will have the cockney geezer on the ‘sniff’ to lure the best players to the Rangers and then some ! Money no object …. The amazing sights and vistas of old Govan town should sway them to Ibrox .

I know Beale said he had vast amount to spend this window, but he must be keeping it if its Bosman after Bosman….maybe hes not git access to a warchest after all.

This story can be regarded as fake, unless a hat has been passed round ibrox to raise the transfer fee.?
