John Souttar is an injury doubt for Scotland’s European Championship qualifier against Norway on Saturday.
The defender started eight SPFL matches in the season just ended which was good enough to walk into Steve Clarke’s squad alongside Ibrox pal Ryan Jack.
Ross Wilson was questioned at the Ibrox AGM in November over putting a known crock on a four year contract with Souttar starting just one match for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Souttar has three Achilles injuries on his CV with the latest set-back being described as a ‘knock’ in the Daily Record:
John Souttar is a major doubt for Scotland’s crucial Euro 2024 clash in Norway.
Record Sport understands the Rangers defender has picked up a knock ahead of the trip to Oslo on Saturday. Souttar is in discussions with gaffer Steve Clarke and national team medics on whether to pull out of the squad. The 26-year-old centre-back is keen to stay with the group for the Euro double-header away to Norway and at home to Georgia.
Micky Beale’s non-internationalists report for pre-season training on June 30 with Connor Goldson not expected to resume full training until the end of July.
Former Chelsea star Dujon Sterling can play in any defensive role.

This guy Souttar would injure himself running a comb through his wet hair ! Who was the genius who proposed the Rangers should build its team around Souttar next season ? I can’t quite remember , but was obviously on the Ayahuasca at the time ! Hope he was wearing a nappy … Nasty , messy habit !
Soutar reminds me of the Spurs player from yesteryear Darren Anderton constantly on the treatment table, infact they had another name to describe him.Sicknote.
Whatever qualifiers we play I do hope we get a right good hairy puddin(scuddin).
Never want us near another European or World tournament as long as the people running the SFA just now are in charge.
Heard rumour that Ranjers are taken company car back, and giving him an Ambulance
Not three bad ,pal … Like it !
Who were the bread man Pele/Messi who were always 10 days away from starting.
Was it a scouse called Rossiter ?
Sick note Soapy never lets you down.
You can set your watch by his injury schedule.
And the Bealer is going to build a team around him.
Makes Darren Anderton look like a Marvel Superhero.
Was it a scouse called Rossiter ?
Genuine injury ?
Would not be surprised if Bealzebub has told him and Jack to feign something, so as to minimise risk of misding CL qualifiers …
So genuine injury ??
i have no interest in J S , but i find the attention on this site directed at him and beale is not very healthy , i want to hear about celtic , not the injuries of an unfortunate man who is trying to make a living ? am i fucking alone here ?
